Day 1 - Restart - Again

It has been many months since I have made my last run. I have gained some more weight. Been some more frustrated with myself. But I have also been exploring another new modality to assist with the healing of my body, with the plan of being able to run again. I created this blog with the intention of sharing my daily story of attempting to run with SI Joint Hypermobility, which for me causes various dysfunction, muscle strains, pains, weaknesses, muscles that can be shut off, ankle pain, Achilles pain, knee pain, back pain etc. My varying methods of aligning my hips before, during and after my runs in order to attempt to maintain some sort of stability and functionality, or at least as much as my hip allows. I will also share my past history of injury, running (successes and frustrations), and various modalities I have experienced over the years, with varying degrees of success, sometimes miraculous, and sometimes not. As a preview of successes, after training for 2 years went from weighing 238.5 lbs to running a 1:10 half marathon, 2:45 full marathon, and various other races from 5k - 50k. The last race I did was the Boston Marathon April 15, 2013. For Boston I had already been fighting constant pain, injury and dysfunction for over a year, and my training has become minimal runs to just complete the distance. Day 1 Restart Run. I have been wanting to restart running, again, for awhile, stars aligned and I found myself with enough time for a few miles to run in corner canyon and put my new headlamp I got a year ago to the night run test. I got to corner canyon and geared up. Base layer pants, calf compression sleeves, wool socks, Altra Lone Peak, Kahtoola Microspikes for traction, double gloves, two tech shirts, heavier winter shirt, neck gator, ....... Posting this - restart, again
